Troubadour was originally an instrumental that I jokingly entitled, Jumbled Words, because I could not come up with a lyric for the melody. One evening I dreamed I met Townes Van Zandt and the melody was playing in the background. I woke up compelled to write lyrics for this song, which became a eulogy for a musician friend who had just passed away, for Townes, and ultimately, for all troubadours.
